No.2 of 14: Keep Yourself FRESH

Writes Trevor:

Here's No.2 in a series of 14 posts extracted from an original article written by self entitled:

14 GOOD Reasons Why You Have Got To Be ‘CRAZY’… NOT To Join The INNER Circle of TOP Business Decision-Makers In Your Area…!

2. Keep yourself fresh. INNER Circle members come from a multitude of business disciplines in varying industries and walks of life. They may be LARGE listed company directors, MEDIUM-sized retail merchants, or SMALL business entrepreneurs. Each has a unique perspective on business, and each has a unique strategy for generating profits in business. Nothing is more pitiful than a bored business executive who has closed himself off solely to the dull, blinkered input of a limited market.

Testimonial From LOUISE BARNES

Writes Louise:

Hi Trevor,

Once again, I would really like to thank you for developing INNER Circle.

Up until July last year, I avoided networking like the plague. The thought of walking into a room of strangers and trying to ‘make conversation’ in order to make contacts filled me with fear. I also found these exercises time-consuming and of very little value. To be honest, I preferred making cold calls!

Then I heard about INNER Circle via somebody who knows Tess Elsen.

I was told that it was like no other networking event and that I should try it out. The rest, as you know, is history and I have been attending at least one meetings a month ever since.

Because the INNER Circle networking method ensures quick, quality interactions between all people who attend, I know exactly who is relevant to connect with and I leave every meeting with at least 5 – 10 solid contacts who know my name, offering and the synergies that exist between us.

Not bad for a two-hour meeting.

When I started attending INNER Circle meetings, I had just started my company from scratch – I had no clients, no cash flow, no business.

Through INNER Circle, and people who I have connected with as a result of INNER Circle, I am in the process of hiring staff and increasing my infrastructure because of too many clients for one person to manage, great cash flow and a great business.

I know for a fact that if it wasn’t for INNER Circle Circle my company would not have grown this quickly.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Kind regards,
Louise

Testimonial From MIRRIAM ZWANE

Writes Mirriam:

Firstly, if I had to go to a business conference for connections I would have to pay about R4000-R6000.

At INNER Circle I pay about 1/40th at the door and get the same value.

The type of people I meet? Don’t want their time wasted – I like that, as I don’t want my time wasted too.

I am grateful to Trevor and Nikki – who both introduced me to INNER Circle.

I have met future business prospects, friends thru this circle and have gained quite a lot thru giving and receiving.

Thank you

No.1 of 14: Expand Your CUSTOMER Base

Writes Trevor:

The series of 14 posts to follow are extracted from an original article written by self entitled:

14 GOOD Reasons Why You Have Got To Be ‘CRAZY’… NOT To Join The INNER Circle of TOP Business Decision-Makers In Your Area…!
1. Expand your customer base. There are only three ways to grow a business… one of the most critical of which is to find NEW customers. INNER Circle members are potential customers for their business and personal needs, and key centres of influence in their families, communities, business associations, and church. They reach a lot of people and are an important source of referrals.

The Shocking Truth About Why Most Businesses Fail and What You Can Do About It

Despite all the MBAs, university degrees, business colleges, high-powered business consultants, and advisers… why is it that only 4 % of ALL businesses survive past 10 years?

Yes, that’s right… Michael Gerber – author: The E-Myth – showed that 80% of all businesses fail in their first five years… and 80% of the remainder fail in the next five years.

Writes Trevor:

The shocking truth is that business is not just about what you know… but who you know.

Sometimes you can have the greatest product or service in the world… and still starve!

It is ALL about RELATIONSHIPS. It is all about TRUST. Decision-makers won’t do long-term business with you until they know you, get to trust in you, and get to feel that you really care about their needs.

The INNER Circle Business Forum is the perfect base for building relationships and sewing seeds of trust amongst your peers in your area… you just never know when you will need them!

Just ONE meeting a month is designed to deliver a multitude of immense benefits to every Business Owner, Director… and Decision-Maker.

In the next post I begin a series of 14 good reasons for you to join your inner circle of business decision-makers in your area:

The POWER Of Networking

Wtites Trevor:

In an article entitled: '14 GOOD Reasons Why You Have Got To Be ‘CRAZY’... NOT To Join The INNER Circle Circle of TOP Business Decision-Makers In Your Area…!', I penned this as point 14:

14. One day you will need your inner circle contacts too. Remember that one day you are going to need the best people in various businesses in your local area… that you know and trust. When you sell your home you will want a real estate professional you know and trust for the best deal. When you invest your profits you will want a financial adviser you know and trust. When you sell your business you will want the best business broker. When you have a medical emergency in your family… the best medical professional. When you have a legal crisis… the best attorney. When you have a tax problem… the best tax specialist. When you want the best people that you know and trust… you can turn to your personal contacts made in the INNER Circle Business Forum.

Let me show you how this works. Last week I had occasion to send out a personal message of 'HELP' to SEVEN (7) attorneys that I cherry-picked from my network.

This was the message I sent:

'I need your help, please. My youngest daughter is currently at Tukkies orientation week - looking to study for a legal degree. However, yesterday she was thrown into a quandry as to whether to choose a B.Com.LLB or a BA.LLB direction. Given your real world experience, what advice would you give to this young lady that can perhaps help her to choose?'

ALL SEVEN (7) responded with incredible insights, won't repeat them all here, but here is a sample of just one for you to see how comprehensive such a response from your network can be:

Hi Trevor

Congratulations on your daughter's brilliant Matric results. That is definitely something to be proud of and she will definitely be an asset to the legal fraternity.

Both degrees are good and well-respected in the legal field. The defining criterion as to whether she is to do a BComm or not, is whether she wishes to go into commercial aspects of law or commerce itself.

The added business angle and base that your are taught when doing a BComm will always come in good stead. I myself studied a BJuris (purely legal) and LLB. I found that once I had finished I did not have any business knowledge. I then went to Wits business school, which I found gave me a more practical understanding of business. If I had done a BComm, I probably would have had that base when leaving varsity.

If she wishes to follow the less commercial aspects of law, such as family law, conveyancing and the like. Then the BA LLB will be more suitable.

One of the aspects that she should take into account is that she may change her mind about law at some stage and the base degree - Bcomm or BA, can be used as a stepping stone to a new career. For example if law is her first choice and Industrial Psychology/ Psychology her second choice, then the BA would be more suitable, as she can elect those secondary subjects in the BA curriculum and decide once she has finished her BA whether to do a LLB or Honours in one of those other subjects.

If she definitely wants to enter the world of commerce (company secretary/ economist/ attorney), then I would advise to follow the BComm route.

My friends and colleagues who have studied BComm and LLB have found the transition between law and commerce sometimes difficult. The manner of studying the two disciplines can sometimes be difficult to marry. It is definitely the tougher choice of the two. Your daughter sounds very bright so this will probably not be such a concern.

At the end of the day, finding articles and entering the legal field can be difficult. From our perspective we consider the academic record (more so than the choice of undergraduate degree done) and the persons ability to apply their theory in practice and whether the candidate has a specific interest in the field of practice.

I hope the advice helps and doesn't confuse her anymore.

Good luck and let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

All goes to show, it's not what you know, it's WHO you know! i am just so proud to have these incredible people in my contact network. Thank you ALL... :-)

So how many quality people do you have in YOUR network? Not enough? Start building your network today.
